1000 Frame Composite — Nothing Exists Until It Moves

by Hutchinson|Kemp

This image is composed of 1000 frames from a new short film work entitled Nothing Exists Until It Moves. Created using a computer vision technique known as frame differencing, the process isolates and amplifies all movement within the film, distilling motion into a single layered image.

A body moves through an unseen environment — an encounter made visible only through the traces it leaves behind. Earth shifts, stones scatter, bushes tremble. What was still becomes known. Through this disturbance, the landscape is animated, and the quiet violence of being is laid bare.

This image is part of a limited edition run of which there is five available.

This work is currently being exhibited at the Courthouse Gallery in Ennistymon
